For your convenience, we have compiled answers to "Frequently Asked Questions". Out of respect for your soon-to-be teacher's time, please read our FAQs before sending in questions. We want you to feel informed, confident, and excited to begin this journey!

Once fully registered as a CEMA Family, you will gain access to our entire digital games library (theory, history, and ear training). But within our public Parent Resources page, we've included our favourite music app suggestions, a copy of our lesson contract, Parent Handbook, etc.

Creative Expressions Music Academy has been an exceptional transition for our family. My elementary school aged children have been thoroughly engaged by their teacher Jacob Herd. He has prioritized exploring their curiosities with music and is helping to foster their love of creating while learning musical fundamentals (emphasis on the "FUN"). Jacob is kind, considerate and encouraging and has a terrific set-up for hosting lessons in his home - I entirely recommend him as a music teacher!
Our daughter, Anya really had a wonderful time learning from both of her teachers. Teacher Gemma, her voice teacher and Teacher Amy her piano teacher. Anya always shared to us when she gets home what she learned every after lesson. As parents, we are happier when we see our daughter enjoying and having so much fun both in her Voice lesson and Piano lesson. Creative Expressions Music Academy offers an incredible program for kids to learn music through play and just having a great time and on top of that they have wonderful and amazing teachers.
Annette and Amy are wonderful, fantastic teachers! Always patient, and making sure each new concept is explained and understood before moving on. We have a thirty minute slot and every minute is utilized with theory, practice, or a fun game so my students are engaged without being overwhelmed.
In the recent months I have started voice lessons with Gemma. Before starting lessons, I did not realize how complex singing actually is. Not only has Gemma taken the time to break down and teach me every aspect of vocals, but she has also taken my voice and created specifically catered exercises for me based on where I'm at. She then has taken these and showed me in depth how to continue to build on this. She is a wonderful kind, polite, and patient individual and she makes my experience in this training so much fun. I would recommend this academy and Gemma to anyone. The professionalism, knowledge and attention to detail this academy and Gemma possess is impeccable!
My daughter started vocal lessons with Gemma in the spring, and loved it instantly! Singing brings her joy, and she gets to learn new skills every week. She is involved in choosing the songs she learns, and the program even makes taking the time to practice every day fun with challenges.

Please Note: Corey manages the academy and plans its annual curriculum, recitals, and events while teaching nearly 50 students of his own each week.
CEMA has been built to connect local families directly with music teachers in their neighbourhood while integrating Corey's curriculum, games/resources, and events into the program for everyone... but it certainly takes a village, and we're a great team!
