Inclusive Programming

Our first and most important job was to create a way for students to learn music that addressed two major concerns in the music education field: 1) private music lessons are too rigid and traditional, and 2) only "the strong" survive. We've found a way to make learning music more fun and accessible, so that less kids quit lessons thinking "music is too hard"... and we're excited for your child to experience it!

Regardless of which instrument your child wants to learn (including voice lessons), we all follow the CEMA Curriculum/Calendar together. When needed, our teachers just modify the challenges or recital experience for your child.

Supporting our Teachers

Our academy owner, Corey, works directly with the teachers themselves, and our teachers work directly with you and your child(ren). Our teachers are very passionate about music and sharing that love with their students. That is why it is so important to us that we provide everything our teachers need to be successful.

We honour the skills and expertise they bring to our team and work together to build a curriculum that is meaningful for everyone. Teaching by oneself can be lonely. Our teachers gain a community that provides connection and collaboration, receive ongoing professional development, and we inspire each other all the time

Finally, we handle the payment/paperwork/marketing/etc., enabling our teachers to invest more of their time into the thing they love most… TEACHING!

Teaching Resources

We provide our teachers with access to our full curriculum, a lending library of more than 100 games and off-the-bench activities, over 500 digital music games/resources, payment coordination, marketing and a growing list of interested students.

With such a fun and busy curriculum, we want to make sure that everyone is kept in-the-loop!

Communication

With Your Teacher

All questions you have regarding your child's lesson experience will flow through your teacher, and you will register for all recitals, group classes, our masterclass, and family events by chatting with your teacher directly.

To stream-line things once lessons begin, please chat regularly with your teacher in your child’s lesson itself - this is the best time to confirm details for upcoming recitals, group classes or family events, or to check in to see how your child is progressing.

If your teacher does not know the answer to your question, they will send in an email to us (cc-ing you).

From CEMA

From us at CEMA, you’ll receive monthly newsletters with details for our family events, group classes, recitals, receipts, parent education, etc. Please always read our emails/newsletters and keep track of important dates.

Contacting CEMA

The best questions for you to send to CEMA directly are questions around payment, or if you have an issue/concern with your teacher themselves. Emails from our CEMA Families will be responded to between 3-4pm on weekdays, or during teaching hours when possible.
